A MARTON playgroup has raised hundreds of pounds for a local charity.
The group, based at St Nicholas' Church, Common Edge Road, raised £1,657 for the Macmillan Windmill Appeal as part of the charity's recent "world's biggest coffee morning" event.
Carole Rowlinson, fund-raising co-ordinator said: "We are really pleased! We had the coffee morning and we ran a big raffle. We also auctioned a signed football from Blackpool Football Club and a signed shirt from Wigan FC. We would like to thank the local businesses who donated to our raffle and all family, friends and colleagues who helped us to raise the money.
