PUPILS from Stanah County Primary School became junior reporters last week when they were visited by a journalist from The Citizen
Year Six pupils at the school on Lambs Road, Thornton, are set to write their own newspaper, The Stanah Citizen, and quizzed reporter Rachel Sills about her job when she visited their school on Friday.
The children discussed the importance of newspapers, learned about how papers are put together and the roles of the different staff members. The children will now set to work on their own newspaper, undertaking all jobs, including editor, news reporters, reviewers, photographers, sports reporters and advertising staff. The paper is due out toward the end of term.
Rachel said: "The children were full of enthusiasm and asked lots of questions. They should do well with their newspaper."
