FOUR victories by the senior rugby teams from King Edward VII and Queen Mary School, Lytham, against Stockport Grammar School are being hailed as the best in a decade.
A great second half effort saw the Lytham 1st XV turn a 10-0 deficit into a 20-15 win at Stockport, with tries from Chris Pickles, Tom Lavelle and vice captain Matthew Kidd.
The 2nd XV, under the captaincy of Henry Denver, also enjoyed a 37-0 win at Stockport. Lytham's Under-15 and Under-14 teams both took advantage of windy home conditions to reverse heavy defeats last year. Winger Adam Webb's spectacular solo effort was the highlight of a 12-7 win for the Under-15s.
The Under-14s, with tries from David Tufft, Axel Robinson and Scott McGeever, had to overcome a spirited Stockport side for a hard-earned 19-10 victory.
