BLACKPOOL man Henry Bangs has been given a life sentence for the brutal murder of his 12-year-old son, Tony.
Tony Bangs was found with a plastic bag over his head at his father's house in Enfield Road, North Shore, on December 28, 2000, after having been strangled with a knotted shoelace from a pair of trainers.
The jury at Preston Crown Court found Henry Bangs guilty on Monday (Oct 15) after evidence was given in a video-link by a boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Judge Peter Openshaw praised the boy for doing everything he could to save Tony.
