A BLACKPOOL man who earlier this year survived a life-threatening motorcycle crash in Weeton, this week met and thanked the police helicopter crew who helped save his life.
Richard Jones, of Silverwood Avenue, was involved in a serious collision with a Vauxhall Astra as he travelled along Singleton Road on May 24.
The force helicopter was called out to the horrific scene and air-lifted the 24-year-old to the Royal Preston Hospital, where he remained in a coma for some 15 days after the crash. At that time doctors were doubtful that he would survive.
However Richard amazed everyone by making a considerable recovery from the initial incident and was very pleased to be able to shake hands with the crew.
