NORTH End fan Brian Dobson has come up with a quakking idea to improve the atmosphere at North End matches.
He wants Whites fans to raise the sound level at Deepdale by using duck hunting whistles or "quackers" to get behind their heroes. So he has invested in hundreds of the whistles which he hopes to sell to fans outside the ground before home matches.
Brian said: "The atmosphere at some home matches can get be a bit low, so I thought this would be a great way to improve it, especially as we have a duck as a mascot. Imagine the noise if there were 10,000 quacking fans behind the goal!"
So far Brian admits his idea has not exactly caught on among the Deepdale faithful -- the amount he has so far sold you could count on the fingers of one hand -- or the wings of one duck. But he remains confident the idea will catch on and will be outside the ground selling them at every home match this season.
