CELEBRATIONS to mark the harvest festival provided food for thought for children at Bury Grammar School (Girls).
Pupils of years three to six in the junior department held a special service followed by the donation of food items to the Women's Royal Voluntary Service.
They will be distributed to the borough's elderly through the meals-on-wheels service.
Claire Trethewey, the school's spokesman, said: "The service involved various relevant readings, choir items and some of the children's thoughts about the world community and how fortunate we are in Britain to have such plentiful supplies of food and clean water."
