BINGO is back in Bury.
After a three-year absence, the popular game is to make a "Kwik" comeback after planning bosses formally approved a scheme for a new bingo hall.
The facility will be created within the existing Rochdale Road Neighbourhood Centre, which houses the Kwik Save supermarket.
The building is too large for the supermarket and existing smaller units are vacant.
The approved plan involves sub-dividing the building so that a small store would remain, leaving the rest of the building to house the bingo hall. Planning chiefs welcomed the scheme at their meeting. Councillor Mike Connolly said: "The new bingo hall in the town centre is a much-needed facility."
Councillor Denise Bigg added: "A lot of people from all walks of life and all ages enjoy the game. I welcome its return."
