BLUEBELLS will be in bloom at Gypsy Brook next spring after youngsters dug in to add a splash of colour to the site.
Around a dozen youngsters from Hoyle Nursery, Chesham Fold Road, pitched in with parents and staff to plant bulbs at the Chesham nature spot.
A class of Year 4 pupils from St Paul's Primary also got their hands dirty in the bid to make the area more attractive.
The project was funded by landfill tax distributors Greening Greater Manchester and followed a weekend clean-up at the spot by the Gypsy Brook Action Group.
Nature reserve officer Daveen Wallis from the Lancashire Wildlife Trust said: "The kids were so enthusiastic it was brilliant.
"They were trying to compete with each other to plant as many bulbs as they could and were really interested in the wildlife."
