PADIHAM boss Graham Howarth warned his side would give someone a good beating -- now he hopes last weekend's thumping 5-1 win against Holker will kick start their season.

The Arbories side travel to Oldham Town tomorrow for their NWCL Division Two clash with a much-needed confidence booster.

And Howarth reckons now is the perfect time to start to climb the table.

He said: "I've always said that we would give someone a good beating. Now we've done it. We've been creating a lot of chances but have not put them away.

"The lads did that last week and were superb. The win has given our confidence a big boost and could be the result to kick start our season."

But Padiham will be without Darren Fullard for some time after cracking his skull two weeks ago.

Howarth added: "Darren went up for a header, clashed heads and ended up cracking his skull just above the nose. It was a pretty nasty injury and he will be out until Christmas."

Centre half Andy Kelly is away but Anthony McCluskey is back from suspension while Dean Stowe and Damien Ingham are also in the squad.
