Bold Miners 28 Bank Quay Bulls 20 BANK Quay opened the scoring in the first minute to shock Bold. Their nippy scrum half shot through a gap to score a fine try.
After a fine run from Wes Singleton, Ian Honey put Bold in front when he scored under the posts. Bold we now playing some great rugby and strong runs from Paul Rigby, Andy O'Dowd and Chris Anders resulted in Ian Honey going in for is second try converted by Mark Saunders.
Good handling from Dave Scott and Dave Hill Produced a try from Neil Kilshaw who left the defence flat footed to score. Half time 18-4 for Bold. After the restart Bank Quay began to get back into the game and two errors from the Bold defence gifted them two tries, with the game finely balanced at 18-16. Wes Singleton went on a blockbusting run to beat three defenders and score under the posts.
Despite a late try from Bank Quay, Bold took the game when a 60 yard break from full back Carl Anders resulted in Mark Penders going in wide out. Final score 28-20 to Bold.
Grundy Excavations man of the match went to Wes Singleton with Ian Honey, Dave Scott, Andy O'Dowd and Carl Anders having excellent games.
