THE disappearance of Darwen woman Evelyn Lund sparked a massive police operation, which took in French, Spanish and British officers.
But despite an extensive search of waterways covering more than a 300-mile area, her husband has not been happy with the way the operation has been handled.
Last year he said: "I don't believe they have searched too much.
"The police have looked around the area she lived and have distributed about 4,000 posters throughout France, but unless somebody actually looks at them the posters are pretty much useless.
"Look at Sarah Payne in England, the police activated half of the world in that search.
"I know she was a child and this case is a middle- aged woman but the police are not doing enough."
As part of their investigation, detectives tried to trace Stephanie Bufton-Wood, who lived in Stockport, and married the former Blackburn Council tree inspector, in 1977 when she was 19.
They were divorced in 1992.
