THE 60's favourite, the Morris Traveller, is making a comeback.
BMW is to build a 21st century retro version of the model which was famous for its wood framing. But sadly, this will be replaced with cheaper more durable plastic.
The latest Traveller will be named the Clubman, like the model which replaced it. It will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
I spotted an original beige version, a 1969 model, in Bradshawgate during the week. It was immaculate and brought back many memories.
My favourite teacher at St Paul's, Westleigh, the late Councillor Harry Davies, was a Traveller fan. I've never forgotten his black model, reg TJ 123, parked outside school when cars were a rarity.
Welcome back.
