POLICE are keen to speak to a man with the nickname "Tyson" in connection with an assault on a 24-year-old Accrington man.
The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Friday, October 12, in the Abbey Street area of the town.
The victim had been involved in a confrontation with a group of youths, which resulted in him being hit on the head with a bottle.
He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and needed stitches to several lacerations.
His attacker was a white male, aged 16 to 17, 5ft 7in and of medium build. He had short black hair and was wearing a black tracksuit and is believed to have the nickname "Tyson".
Detective Sergeant Mark Rothwell from Accrington CID said: " Anyone who might have witnessed the assault on Abbey Street on that night, or who may know the identity of the youth, who may be known as Tyson, is urged to contact Accrington CID.
"Similarly, anyone called Tyson, who may live in the area and who had nothing to do with the incident, should contact us so they can be eliminated from our inquiries."
