BURNLEY theatregoers are in for a treat over the next few weeks with a host of amateur productions at the Mechanics to suit all tastes.
On Friday and Saturday Burnley Gilbert and Sullivan Society presents 'Showtime', a cavalcade of song including all 14 of the duo's light operas and many showstoppers from the Broadway Stage.
The show starts at 7.30pm both nights and tickets are £6 adults, £3 children.
Burnley Light Opera Society presents 'Kiss Me Kate' from Saturday, November 10 to November 17 at 7.30pm. The production, directed by Anthony Williams, is one of the top 10 musicals and features 18 unforgettable songs. Ticket prices range from £4.50 to £9.
A drama by N J Crisp -- 'That Good Night', set in the Umbrian hills of Italy -- is being staged by Burnley Garrick Club from Wednesday, November 21, to Saturday, November 24 (7.30pm).
Director is Dorothy Spencer. Tickets are £4.50 Wednesday and Thursday and £5 on Friday and Saturday (students and under-16s half price on production of NUS card).
Burnley Pantomime Society presents Aladdin by Eric Fowler from Friday, January 11, to Saturday, January 19, with evening performances and Saturday and Sunday matinees. Tickets are £4.75 for adults; children and senior citizens £3.75.
