A LEADING Lancashire brewer is confident of unlocking new business thanks to a key appointment.
Daniel Thwaites has drafted in Tony Wilkinson as key account manager, hoping to reap the benefits of his wealth of experience within the British brewing industry. And it is an opportunity he relishes.
Mr Wilkinson said: "Working with Thwaites may be new, but the name is very familiar to me.
"During my time as a national account manager with Bulmers, Thwaites was one of my customers so I know a bit about them.
"I am delighted to be given this new challenge and feel I have a lot to offer. It is 30 years since I started out with Seagram and later Pernod. For the last 16 years, I have held a similar position with Bulmers.
"My first aim will be to continue the excellent growth Thwaites has achieved in recent years. I can think of many positives, not least the development of their cask ale range and the association with Germany's number one beer brand, Warsteiner.
"More specifically, I want to develop the business in the wholesale, regional brewery and pub companies sector.
"My experience has included many dealings with pub companies and this is an area I know Thwaites is very keen to develop."
Lee Williams, national account manager at the Blackburn-based brewery, said: "We are delighted to add someone of Tony's stature to our team. He is a determined professional with a wide knowledge of the industry and his arrival underlines our desire to continue the Thwaites success story."
