FIRE crews today appealed for vandals who have been throwing fireworks through letter boxes to think before they act.
A crew was called out to a house in Skye Crescent, Shadsworth, Blackburn, at 10pm yesterday after a number of fire works were thrown through the letter box of a house.
Firefighters are concerned that youths do not realise the dangers that they are putting people in by throwing fireworks into people's houses.
Station officer Keith Cunliffe of Blackburn Fire Brigade has issued a warning to youths this bonfire night.
"I want people to realise the dangers that they are causing when they throw fireworks into homes.
"The fireworks can not only cause serious damage by fires in the home, but they can also block off vital escape routes should the fireworks cause a fire, resulting in people being trapped."
