BOOTHSTOWN is a highly desirable place to live, according to a new report.
The area was described as "very stable, attractive and a highly desirable residential area" and identified as the most prosperous service delivery area in a Salford Council report.
But Cllr Kerry Holt said the "highly desirable" tag creates problems because so many people want to move to the area the council is pressured to develop land, and facilities for less affluent people living in the area are often under invested.
To improve the area even more the council report called for local tourism to be developed, improvements to the environment, reductions in the incidence of crime and the fear of crime and for improvements in provisions for young people.
But Cllr Holt said problems have been created because the area is considered to be affluent.
He said: "There are people who are not affluent who have retired on pensions. There are not the services for them as there are in less affluent areas."
Cllr Holt added the council would not qualify for certain types of government grants set up to benefit the less well off.
