POLICE swooped on a lorry after robbers held up the driver and attempted to steal the vehicle's load early today.
The vehicle was stopped as it travelled through the town centre and officers closed off a number of roads while they carried out inquiries.
The driver is not believed to have been injured in the incident.
Sergeant Dave Mangan of Blackburn police said there that had been an attempted robbery of a load and that Manner Stutton Street had been shut off from Eanam to Cleaver Street.
The lorry is owned by the Felixstowe-based company Norfolk Line.
Managing director Eddie Green said: "There was an attempted robbery and the driver was in the lorry at the time."
