LIZA Goddard implicated in murder plot! The TV star is well and truly embroiled in dastardly misdeeds in a production of Murder By Misadventure which comes to Blackpool's Grand Theatre from November 5 to 10.

Liza, well-known for her TV appearances in Pig In The Middle, Roll Over Beethoven, and as Philippa Vale in Bergerac, plays Emma Kent, wife of a TV thriller writer Harold Kent, who becomes blackmailed by his writing partner.

In order to escape the blackmail, Harold, played by Robert Powell, conspires with Emma to dispose of his partner (played by David Griffin) using the plot from one of the scripts the pair have been working on -- Murder By Misadventure!

But will things go as smoothly in reality as they do in the script? The persistent Inspector Egan is an unplanned and troublesome spanner in the works...

Liza says: "All I can say is that it's a murder mystery, but I can't give away any of the plot. There are so many twists and turns. Nobody has ever worked out the ending.

"The role of Emma is most enjoyable to play. There's actually lots of humour in it. It's a great joy to get laughter."

She says that the play has had a fantastic response so far on its tour, and audiences become really involved in the plot.

"At one point the audience know what's going to happen before the players on the stage and there's a great deal of anticipation and then uproar when it happens."

She adds that audience members often spend the whole of the interval talking over the plot. "It's the kind of play where you do become involved," she said.

And Liza is looking forward to coming to Blackpool: "I've only been to Blackpool once before and that was about 30 years ago. I came to judge Miss United Kingdom."

Funnily enough, Liza first met co-star Robert Powell on that first Blackpool visit. He was a fellow Miss UK judge.

"But I'm looking forward to coming back immensely. I didn't get chance to see much of the town last time. Robert says what a great place it is."
