PUPILS at Greenlands Community Primary School want everyone - including future generations - to know they will not stand for racism and they want to spread their message across time.
They were invited to design a poster for National Anti-Racism in Football week. Preston North End players judged the competition and the winner was Paul Middleton, 10.
His poster was placed in a time capsule in the roof of the school, along with materials, chosen by the children, which will be of historical interest in the future - reflect life today - reflect their life and attitudes from the present day for the interest of future generations.
These included before and after photographs of the recently renovated school building, current uniform items and examples of the children's work.
Headteacher Sylvia Wardley said: "I hope that by the time this capsule is opened in perhaps 40 or 50 years time people will be asking themselves what the term 'racism' means."
