A DOLL'S house from the big house will raise vital funds for terminally ill children.

Two talented inmates of Garth prison, near Leyland, have spent hours hand-crafting a highly intricate and detailed doll's house -- which is to be auctioned for charity in December.

The South Fylde support group for Derian House Children's Hospice, near Chorley, is the grateful recipient of the special gift.

Group chairwoman Lesley Greenslade said: "We were very happy to receive the house -- it really is quite stunning. This type of house usually sells for at least £500 and we are sure it will bring this at the auction."

The house is currently on display in the window of Stampede, Children's Shoe Company on Clifton Street, Lytham. Anyone interested can place a bid in the shoe shop, where it is to be displayed until the end of next week. It will be sold to the highest bidder.

Anyone interested in making a donation to the auction should contact either Lesley Greenslade on (01253) 731094 or Louise Coyle on (01253) 796337.
