THE Nelson players are looking forward to their FA Vase clash with NWCL Division One side Clitheroe but have league matters to cope with first.
The two local sides will clash in the second round of the competition at Shawbridge on November 10 with underdogs Nelson out to prove themselves.
"Clitheroe are where we want to be," said manager John Bailey. "They get good crowds, they have good facilities and they are the benchmark for where we are looking to go to.
"It's a chance for one or two of our players to make a name for themselves."
But first up, they face a trip to Squires Gate tomorrow who have played three less games than the Blues and lie just two points behind them in the NWCL Division Two.
Bailey's side are looking to get back to winning ways after five league games without a win.
"We need to get back on track so we are looking for a bit of the spirit which helped us beat Louth in the Vase last weekend," he said.
Bailey is currently on the hunt for a couple of players to boost his squad especially as he will be without at least two first teamers tomorrow.
Mick Molyneux is at a wedding while Mark Smith is out with a knee injury picked up at Louth. Striker Nigel Coates has a groin strain while frontman Jonathan Irvine is 50-50 with an Achilles injury.
