PADIHAM would like more than just satisfaction from the Football Association over Kendal's illegal approach for Storks striker Lee Chambers.

Hot shot Chambers has been banging in the goals for the UniBond First Division side - four in six games - since he joined them earlier this month from the Arbories.

Kendal admitted their guilt in a letter to the Westmoreland FA and to Padiham secretary Alan Smith and the matter is now in the hands of the FA in London.

"Kendal will probably get a little bit of a fine which will go to the FA and we will get the satisfaction that they have been punished," said Smith.

"But we have lost a quality player. I believe that if clubs are found guilty then the club who has lost the player should get some compensation."

Padiham never wanted to stand in the way of Chambers, they just wanted to make sure they weren't an easy target for other clubs.

"Good luck to Lee, we never wanted to stop his progress," said boss Graham Howarth.

"We just wanted to make a point to other clubs that we were not easy pickings."

Howarth admitted the club were struggling to replace Chambers.

"It shows how good he is that they came from Kendal to watch him so it will be difficult but we will see what we can do."

Padiham are at home to Blackpool Mechanics tomorrow and are boosted by Anthony McCluskey's return up front to partner Ian Pilkington as they go on the hunt for goals.

The former Burnley trainee has missed a month through suspension and had to play at the back last week on his return to fill in.

"Anthony scored 30-odd goals for us in the West Lancs League a couple of seasons ago although he played in the backline all last season.

"But I am hoping to play him up front again tomorrow," said Howarth.

Padiham have only won two of their last 11 NWCL Division Two games and will be looking to get revenge after Blackpool beat them 3-0 in rainy conditions earlier this season.
