IT'S hoped the Clitheroe players enjoyed their break as there will be no rest for the title chasing Blues in the next three weeks.

They have just enjoyed a 12-day break caused by a free Saturday and Tuesday's postponed game against Salford City.

But now it's all go, as they prepare for three cup competitions and a packed league programme.

Lee Sculpher's men will be involved in League Cup action at St Helens, an FA Vase game against Nelson and a Mardsen Lancashire Cup match versus Radcliffe Borough over the coming month.

But first the NWCL Division One second placed side will be in league action when they take on Glossop at Shawbridge tomorrow.

"I'm just hoping the rest has done the players good and they are raring to go although it could have the adverse affect. I just hope not," said the Blues boss, who has made good use of his time off.

"I've watched a couple of games. I saw St Helens play Atherton Collieries earlier this week as we play them both over the next few weeks.

"In fact I've seen almost all the teams in our leagues, except Glossop. Unfortunately they are one of the few I haven't seen.

"But, with no disrespect to any other teams we play, I think if we play to our capabilities we can beat anyone."

The usual suspects are up near the top of the league including the Blues, who were last season's runners-up, Mossley and Salford City.

"The one team that has surprised me is Warrington Town," said Sculpher. "They came up last season and they have continued on a roll."

Clitheroe have lost just one of their last nine games and that was the last match they played with the 1-0 loss to Curzon Ashton a week last Monday.

But the rest has given the players time to recover and there are only two casualties for the Glossop game. A date for about mid November has been pencilled in for striker Lee Cryer's, pictured, return as he bids to recover from a long term knee injury while Stuart Todhunter is at a family wedding.
