TAKING into consideration the huge injury list faced by Steve McMahon before the game, the Blackpool manager would have been delighted to come away from North Wales with the point his side earned.
But on the other hand, the make-shift Blackpool squad could easily have come away with all three points after an excelent second half display.
With John Murphy and Graham Fenton out with injury, McMahon opted to play Brett Ormerod on his own up front, with Paul Simpson just behind him.
After a scrappy start to the game, in which neither side were dominant, Wrexham opened the scoring just after the half hour mark.
Brian Reid's challenge resulted in a free kick and Lee Trundle headed the ball over James Pullen and found the net for 1-0.
The goal took some of the stuffing out of Blackpool, and the remainder of the first half was their poorest spell of the game.
They had been working hard and closing everything down, but now they gave Wrexham more space, and put themselves under pressure.
Disaster nearly struck when Coid made a mess of things in the middle, and a forward got free, but Pullen came out bravely at his feet, and after a scramble he finally grabbed the ball.
Although coming back strongly at the start of the second half Wrexham started to look like a side that is bottom of the league when the Seasiders stepped up a gear.
A Blackpool goal was immenent but it came only after Ormerod missed a glorious chance just a few minutes after the break.
Parkinson delivered a superb ball through to Bullock and his pass across to Brett wasn't met cleanly and he squandered a decent opportunity.
But Ormerod made amends and stepped up to head home Paul Simpson's 59th minute corner.
As the final whistle approached, Blackpool had their best chance to take all the points.
Bullock had two or three good runs up the right, getting round the back of the defence, and the last one struck the hand of a defender.
The penalty shout was turned down, but it went for a corner.
After another exchange of short passes, the cross came in, and Ormerod got there ahead of the keeper.
Unfortunately his header struck the front of the bar, and the rebound dropped straight into the grateful arms of the keeper as he lay on the ground.
The referee signaled the game to a close moments later and the Seasiders come away from Wrexham with a well earned point.
RESULT: Wrexham...1 (Lee Trundle) Blackpool... 1 (Brett Ormerod)
