SERVICES are to be streamlined following an agreement between Lancashire County Council and Burnley and Pendle councils.
A concordat was signed by council leaders Hazel Harding, Stuart Caddy and Azhar Ali bringing in a new era of co-operation between the authorities.
Coun Harding said: "We have a commitment to work together in close partnership in order to improve the quality of life for local people. Our aim is to sign a concordat with each of Lancashire's district councils."
The agreement will mean a member of staff from the county council working in each district.
Coun Ali said they were delighted to be the first to build a closer working relationship with the county authority and Coun Caddy added: "This is a big step forward for joined-up government, ensuring good value services for everyone in our communities."
