WITCH'S brew and green face paint were just some of the wicked delights on offer as part of the Hallowe'en fun for Help the Aged's Scream Day in Great Harwood.
There may not have been much screaming, but the steady stream of customers and the staff enjoyed some shrieks of excitement during the day, which raised awareness of the voluntary organisation while also being a fun day for the local community. Shop manager Maureen Tomlinson said: "There was plenty of shrieking going on when someone asked me for a piggy-back.
"Being a small town we don't get a lot of the passing trade, like others do in Blackburn or Accrington. We need to do community things to get people involved." The Hallowe'en-theme day also raised around £50 for Help the Aged.
