RE the article in last week's sports section of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph concerning the suspension of Bacup Borough's captain Damian Moran.
As a regular supporter of Bacup Borough, I fail to see how the actions of manager Brent Peters are "in the best interest" of the club.
Not only has Damian been suspended for 14 days, he has been told that his contract will be terminated and the club will demand compensation from any subsequent club he may play for.
Brent Peters should realise that if he had 11 Damian Morans in his team, Bacup Borough would have a lot fewer problems with commitment and loyalty to the club. Instead he chooses to bring in players from out of town whose primary concern is money.
Take a leaf out of Rossendale United's book, get the foundations right first.
One last thing Brent, if you should ever resign, please come back Damian.
