WE have had to wait a long time since we brought something back from Arsenal, that being a 3-1 drubbing with Wilcox, Gallagher and Sherwood scoring.
Wright ended up in the doghouse and disappeared to some lesser team in the end.
Rovers had prepared for their trip to Highbury against probably the worst performance ever seen at Ewood Park in West Ham, whilst Arsenal prepared against Champions League opposition.
What appeared was a zonal marking system with Freidel in world class form and Arsenal going one behind through a beautifully deflected shot from right winger Gillespie, thankfully fit to play.
It wasn't going to be easy in the second half and this bunch of world class prima donna's certainly have some fancy footwork.
But Rovers have spirit and two goals from Dunn, the pride of this football town secularly speaking, had Eriksson reaching for his marker pen, but Flitcroft and any other Rovers' Englishman would be booked for next year's World Cup.
Let's hope as the season progresses Rovers realise that Europe beckons once more and a top six is realistic now.
