"WE have just ended a run of five games without a win and we have to put together an unbeaten run," said Gills boss Andy Hessenthaler.
"We stopped playing football and just knocked long balls to our two big lads up front. We stopped passing the ball and they were better than us for a time.
"But we finished quite strongly and I think that Stan will have been quite glad to hear the final whistle.
"I didn't agree with the penalty, David Perpetuini said he did not move his arm, he just stood up strong.
"But Burnley are a good side and Stan has got a good bunch of players. Like us he has not spent lots of money.
"They are a good passing team but they also work ever so hard. They go out for Stan and work so hard for him.
Burnley defender Gordon Armstrong said: "It has been a terrible 24 hours and none of the players wanted to play the game.
"But they had to, they did not get an option."
