And American Hazel Boldy is thrilled with the website response to a plea for information concerning her Journaland connections following a note posted on our www.thisisleigh.co.uk website.
Hazel wrote: "Apart from the fact that my parents were married in St Stephen's Church, Astley, on February 5, 1910, I haven't been able to uncover a great deal about my father's siblings.
"My father, William Millington, was in the South Lancashire Regiment when he met my mother. She was in domestic service in Blackburn.
"My parents had six children, two sons, and four daughters. I have managed to track all my mother's siblings, but my father's are a different story.
"I know my father was from a large family (I did hear about 13 children) and I know he had a twin brother, but apart from a few names, the others are a mystery.
"I have done many searches but they all come up negative, probably because the name is so common in the area of Leigh and St Helens."
Hazel was delighted to receive a warm Lancastrian response from a man who is sending her a copy of a photo of St Stephen's Church.
She said: "I was just thrilled to bits. So now it looks like I will at last have a picture of the church where my mum and dad were married."
