BRAVE Blackpool Scouts were involved in a cliff-hanger of a clean-up recently.
1st Norbreck Scout members donned climbing equipment for an innovative litter pick on the face of the cliffs around the Red Bank Road.
Vandals and careless tippers had caused an unsightly litter problem but the council could not instruct its cleaners to clean up due to health and safety measures.
Chairman of the Bispham Traders and Hoteliers Association and also the Ist Norbreck Scout leader Gary Petty suggested his group might be able to help using rock climbing and abseiling techniques.
Council leader Roy Fisher said: "This was an excellent opportunity to reduce the problems of litter particularly in this inaccessible area under normal working conditions with the help of the local community."
