A BLACKPOOL woman hotelier was sandwiched between two cars and robbed of a substantial amount of cash on a Blackpool street.
The 46-year-old woman was driving down Clifton Drive, near the Pleasure Beach, at 9.10am on Tuesday (Oct 30) when the car in front of her braked sharply. She stopped her car and the car immediately behind her also stopped.
A man from each of the cars got out and one of them smashed the front passenger window of the woman's car and grabbed her handbag, containing thef cash.
The two men escaped in one of the cars, a Vauxhall Astra, abandoning the other car, a Vauxhall Corsa. Police have identified the Corsa as a stolen car from the Rochdale area.
Both men were white with dark hair and aged between 20 and 22. Both were scruffily dressed. One was 6ft tall and the other was 5ft 9ins tall. One of the thieves had long sideburns and wore a hat.
Sgt Keith Lee of Blackpool police said: "We would like anyone who may have seen the men acting suspiciously at the time of the robbery or just prior to it to contact us," he said.
