BRIGHT sparks in Blackpool can head for one of the many fabulous firework displays on the Fylde Coast this weekend!
The fun begins on Saturday (November 3) at Blackpool Cricket Club, Stanley Park, with a bonfire and fireworks spectacular.
Gates, bars and a children's fairground open at 6pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7pm followed by a firework display. Admission is £2 for adults, £1 for children and refreshments will be available.
On Sunday evening Blackpool Pleasure Beach will wow the crowds with a huge free firework spectacular.
Dubbed "Fireworks Frenzy" the exciting event will also feature music from The Great Northern Symphony Orchestra, international DJ Mark Freejack and Rock FM DJs Mark Kaye and Rick Vaughn.
A host of street entertainers, stiltwalkers and fire eaters will add to the spectacle culminating in a sparkling fireworks finale and music from the movies.
The fun starts at 6.30pm on the Promenade at the south end of the park.
And on Nov 5 itself Lytham Round Table will host a bonfire and firework extravaganza at Fylde Rugby Club, Blackpool Road, Lytham.
Organisers are hoping to top last year's 3,000 attendance with a children's fun fair, fire jugglers, fire eaters and a New Orlean's jazz band to entice the crowds as well as fireworks. Gates open at 5pm and the display fires up at 7pm. Admission is £2.50 per person or £2 for advance tickets from Tourist Information Centres. All proceeds go to the Macmillan Windmill Appeal.
Poulton le Fylde Rotary Club's 17th annual bonfire and firework display will burst into life on Monday at Cottam Hall Fields, Poulton.
Gates for the charity event open at 5.30pm with Wyre Mayor David Sharples lighting the fire at 6.30pm.
Families can rock-et with The Wave 96.5FM's roadshow starring Lionel Vinyl and the Millennium Professional fireworks display will finish off the evening with a bang.
Admission for the event will be £2 for adults and £1 for children with a family ticket for two adults and two children costing £5. Proceeds will go to Brian House Children's Hospice, Trinity Hospice, British Heart Foundation Research and the Air Ambulance Service.
Blackpool Fire Station's Kevin Jaynes is encouraging people to attend organised displays. "You have usually got responsible people in charge, it's normally well supervised, it's usually well stewarded and there is consultation with us prior to the event."
He advised people using fireworks at home to follow the firework code including not giving sparklers or fireworks to children under five and keeping fireworks in a metal box and away from a naked flame.
