THE second round of the Mid Lancs Cross Country League is at Wilson Playing Fields, Clayton le Moors on Saturday.
The start times are slightly different from the opening round at Liverpool, the new times are in operation for all the remaining fixtures.
The under 11 girls get the proceedings away at 12:30pm, with the boys at 12:45pm. At 1pm the under 13 girls run, with the under 15 girls and under 13 boys both going at 1:20pm. 1:40pm is the start of the under 15 boys and under 17 women, the under 17 men and senior women begin at 2pm. In the final race the senior men are off the mark at 2:30pm.
Saturday's 'Felldancer' Shepherd's Skyline Fell Race has been renamed the Harry Clayton Memorial Race in honour of Todmorden's founder member who died recently. The 6.5 miler which climbs 1150' starts from the Shepherd's Rest Inn, Lumbutts Road, Todmorden at 2pm.
The 18th Nike Through the Villages Road Race is on Sunday with a 10:30am start. It starts and finishes at the Dressers Arms at Wheelton passing through Wheelton, Brinscall, Abbey Village and Withnell en route. Slightly bizarrely it is advertised as an accurate 8 miles and 781 yards.
SE Lancashire Orienteering Club is inviting entries for their event at Watergrove, Wardle near Rochdale on Sunday. For you map readers the location is GR 911181. White, yellow, orange and light green courses are available. Registration is from 10am to 11:30am with starts from 10:30am to 12:30pm.
