GORDON Marsden, MP for Blackpool South, has asked us to point out that a letter which was published in last week's Citizen made statements about him that were inaccurate.
The post of Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Lord Chancellor is unpaid and not "a lucrative post" as described in the letter.
It did not require him to be a professional lawyer as was aslo suggested.
Mr Marsden says it is also untrue that he does not reply to letters written to his London base and a suggestion that Blackpool South Labour Party "appears to be operating a blacklist of constituents who are not Labour Party supporters" is equally false. We are happy to set the record straight.
