Radcliffe Borough 4 Ossett Albion 1
BELTER BANIM SEES RED
TWO more goals for UniBond hotshot Jody Banim lifted Boro back to the top of the Division One table and put Banim on 19 for the season.
Radcliffe turned in a superb first half performance and had this game won by the break.
They opened the scoring with a smart fifth minute move saw Richard Landon head in Richard Battersby's cross.
A magnificent strike by Banim on 25 minutes put Boro 2-0 up. Banim collected the ball 25 yards out, did his usual bit of nifty footwork and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner.
Danny Toronczak forced Danny Hurst in the Boro goal inot a good save, but Boro went further in front in the 35th minute when Banim beat the offside trap to calmly lob the ball over the advancing Andy Carney in the Ossett goal.
The visitors got a grip on things in defence in the second half and substitute Rob Holmes pulled a goal back for them on 71 minutes after capitalising on some poor defending.
Boro's last goal owed a lot to Banim initially as he was brought down by Mark Lafferty, but both players let themselves down by becoming involved in a scuffle that saw them both red carded.
From the free-kick Mark Dempsey wrapped things up with a fourth goal for the home side.
