IN response to the latest load of safety nonsense regarding karaoke (LET, October 23), at least now we have a reason as to why the events are so life-threatening -- there "could be" three people on stage.

The courts would be full if the charge was "could be," "could have" or "was likely to have."

Having been a karaoke host on a full time basis for five years, I can assure you it is quite simple for the DJ not to be on stage at the same time as the singer.

That means there "could be" only two people on stage. As for backing singers, who needs 'em?

Therefore, there "could be" one person on stage. But, wait a minute, the singer is quite happy sitting down at a table. And there we have it ... a karaoke show and nobody on stage.

Could be, maybe.
