A LOCAL company is to sponsor the seventh annual Rapidplay Congress organised by Bury Chess Club.
Insurance broker and investment consultants Moscrop Robinson and Chadwick is backing the event, to be staged at Bury Town Hall on December 9.
Moscrops, based in St Mary's Place, Bury, was formed in 1892 by H. Moscrop Robinson when the principal occupation was that of a stockbroker.
As it developed, both insurance broking and travel agency were added. In 1948, the insurance brokerage Moscrop Robinson and Chadwick was formed as a partnership between the founder, his daughter and Eddie Chadwick.
In more recent times, the partnership has been extended. The business has grown further by the integration of the well-established brokerages, S.H. Stevens and Co, E. Morgan Insurances, Medical Auxiliary Insurance Brokers and Westbrook Life and Pensions.
