WORK is set to end on the new Higher Audley junction in the next week.
Blackburn with Darwen Council bosses have begun publishing weekly lists of road works throughout the town in a bid to keep traffic moving.
Several projects are currently under way, including the creation of Blackburn's orbital route and the redevelopment of Church Street. Council chiefs have stressed all the work has to be done now because it is being funded in part by Government cash, which has to be used by a certain date.
But the volume of cones has led to concerns being expressed by traders, shoppers and even the emergency services.
Roadworks on the orbital route this week include the last week of works on the Higher Audley/Lower Audley junction, the Townsmoor area, Canterbury and Freckleton Streets and King Street and Montague Street.
Work is also continuing on Church Street, which is having a knock-on effect in Darwen Street and Higher Church Street.
North West Water is also carrying out work in the Canterbury Street and Darwen Street area.
And drivers are being advised to avoid the town centre on November 11 because many roads will be closed to allow the Remembrance Sunday parade.
