BLACKBURN Hawks are looking to return to top form when they visit the Birmingham Rockets in a Premier Cup clash tonight.
A 6-3 defeat against Billingham last week ended the Hawks' run of five games unbeaten in the English National Ice Hockey League, but coach Bobby Haig is confident that the lads can bounce back.
"Birmingham have lost four of their best players and since then we have already beaten them 4-1 in the league," he said. "We're hoping for a repeat performance, and we will not be as complacent as we were last week."
Colin Downie was feeling better in training on Thursday night, and the Hawks go into tonight's game with a full strength squad.
Hawks manager Keith Greenhalgh said: "The Rockets are a difficult team to predict. They are new to the league, and the first time we played them in the English Cup, we were beaten 7-6.
"But in a recent league match, the team didn't have that same sparkle with the loss of their star players, and we went on to win. A lot depends on their strength tonight, we are hoping they are still in the same form as when we saw them last."
Although the Hawks are looking for a win tonight, it is looking unlikely that they will get through the group. They lost their last Premier Cup match 10-1 against Nottingham, and have yet to play Solihull, the best team in their group.
