IT may have cost £13 million to build and be the 13th new De Vere hotel, but bosses of Bury's Village Hotel are not superstitious!
Two months after it opened to the public, the Waterfold Park health and conference facility is already exceeding their expectations.
The health club boasts 3,000 members and the complex has already hosted its first wedding reception, numerous conferences and is approaching capacity for the Christmas period.
The immediate success of the hotel was spelled out at Wednesday's official opening.
The chief executive of De Vere Hotels and Leisure Limited, Paul Dermody, told guests, including the Mayor of Bury, Councillor Paul Nesbit: "The complex will draw in new trade for Bury. It has already created 200 new jobs in the local area."
General manager Steve Lee added: "Our ambition is to establish ourselves at the heart of the local community. We are optimistic that we can do that."
