COUNCILLORS have been recommended to refuse proposals to build a detached bungalow in the grounds of The Nook School in Colne.
The house would replace the static caravan currently being used by the manager of the children's home and its associated school.
The children's home has been expanded over time and in September last year permission was granted against officer advice for the permanent continued use of the static caravan already on the land for residential purposes.
Planning officers have once again advised against the operation by the school because they feel the position of the bungalow would make it an "inappropriate isolated development that would unnecessarily lead to a lot of openness in the countryside."
Two letters of objection to the access road have been received and a further letter which objected to the development on the grounds it would spoil the countryside.
Colne and District Committee will decide whether to allow the plans to go ahead at their meeting tomorrow.
