AN Accrington couple have appeared in court charged with possession of a large quantity of drugs.
Damien James Cooper, 26, and Janine Anne Wastell, 21, of Water Street, Accrington, faced numerous charges of possession with intent to supply when they appeared before Blackburn magistrates.
The couple were arrested after police stopped their car at 12.40am on Monday in Darwen and found 80 ecstasy tablets, 13 LSD tablets, a large quantity of foil wraps and cannabis resin.
Six 9oz bars of cannabis, worth £4,500, herbal cannabis worth £1,000 and £6,300 cash was later recovered at an address.
Cooper was remanded in custody until November 14 and Wastell was bailed until that date.
