CONCERNING his remarks (Letters, October 29) about independence for Darwen, I would suggest that Roy Davies looks at how the people of the town vote in local elections.
If the people of Darwen keep voting for Labour councillors, we will never get independence or area committees.
Liberal Democrats are committed to devolution at all levels of government and I advise the people of Darwen to vote for the Liberal Democrats, who have a voice of their own and are not voting fodder for Blackburn's Labour Party.
Councillor PAUL BROWNE, Sudell Ward, Darwen.
