JB PRIESTLEY'S classic thriller, An Inspector Calls, comes to the area on Monday, November 12.
The C'est Tous Theatre, based at the Marsden Theatre, Worden Park, Leyland, has organised matinee and evening performances at Rufford Old Hall and Worden Park every day until Sunday, November 25.
And the audience is promised a chilling tale that will make them examine their own consciences.
The play's message is that we are all equal members of society who have a responsibility to look after each other, or bloodshed will follow.
This theme was topical when the play was released in 1945 and, given the current 'War on Terror', serves as a timely reminder.
The scene is 1912 at the Yorkshire townhouse of the Birling family, throwbacks to middle class Victorians.
When Inspector Goole arrives during a family celebration, the pretence of their lives is shattered.
He confronts each family member about the suicide of a young girl, Eva Smith and then leaves the townhouse once he has proved each is responsible for her fate.
But then the Burlings come to the conclusion the whole situation was a hoax, and return to normality, until another inspector calls.. .
The production has some familiar faces from previous C'est Tous shows.
David Houston and Christine Appleby play Mr and Mrs Birling, with Michaela Gammans and Andrew Sumner as their children. The play starts at different times throughout the fortnight and some shows are already booked up by school trips.
