PRESTONIANS are invited to join current and ex-servicemen on Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph in Market Square, Preston, at 10.45am.
Vicar of Preston, reverend canon Martyn Griffiths, and the mayor's chaplain, sister Myrtle Poxon will lead the ecumenical service which is also to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion.
Canon Peter Verity will represent the Roman Catholic church and the town's mayor, councillor Alan Hackett, will attend.
The service at Leyland Parish Church starts at 10.45am following a procession at 10.10am from the Civic Centre, West Padock, Leyland. Those parading should gather at the Civic Centre from 9.45am.
St Mary's Church, Broadfield Drive, Leyland, will hold a 'Celebration of Peace' service on Sunday from 7pm.
Meanwhile, Preston police are warning motorists parking will be prohibited on the covered markets and Flag Market overnight on Saturday, November 11.
Vehicles left until 6am on Sunday will be towed away to Chapel Yard, car park at Friargate and Ringway, however motorists will not be punished for this as Riverside Recoveries are providing the service free of charge.
The areas need to be cleared by 9am to make room for the parade.
