A CELEBRATION drink with his workers ended in the cells for company boss Anthony David Wilkinson.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Wilkinson was abusive to a police sergeant outside Rendezvous nightclub in Accrington Road, Whalley.
Wilkinson, 36, of Whalley Road, Billington, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and was fined £50 with £55 costs.
Abid Sarwar, defending, said Wilkinson was a successful businessman in the Whalley area, employing several people in several companies.
One was a building firm and the week before the incident, Wilkinson and his men had worked 80 hours to complete a major contract.
"When the job was done they persuaded him to join them for a drink," said Mr Sarwar. "He tried to keep up with them but couldn't and he cannot remember anything about the incident. He accepts the prosecution version."
