ACCRINGTON Stanley have resurrected plans to build a £50,000 all-weather complex at the back of the Crown Ground.
The Reds had a similar plan rejected by Hyndburn Council two years ago after residents complained about certain aspects of the proposal.
However, Stanley have since gone back to the drawing board and are now seeking planning permission for a revised project.
"We have made a few amendments to the proposal," said Stanley commercial boss John Demaine.
"We are only putting up two floodlights instead of four and we are going to use the same anti-glare shields on the floodlights that we have on the pitch.
"We want it for the whole community. It is not just for us, it is for everybody as there is only Hyndburn Sports Centre in the area.
"We feel schools, the local residents and the community can benefit."
The area it is set to cover is 36 metres long and 20m wide, where the current car park is, just off the main road.
Stanley expect to hear in January from the Council and are hoping to get a grant for the project from the Football Trust and raise the rest of the money.
